Dame Carol BlackHome << Supporting statement

"As an experienced clinician, I welcome the Water@Work initiative and support the endeavours of UNISON in promoting good hydration and the availability of fresh drinking water in all workplaces. I am pleased to be asked to support this campaign and look forward to it promoting and improving health in all workplaces.

Fresh water is a basic nutrient of the human body and it is essential for our heath and well-being. Many common ailments can be avoided by staying well hydrated and this can not only help employees to enjoy better health but it can also increase productivity and reduce unnecessary time away from work. We are fortunate in this country to have access to a plentiful supply of high quality drinking water from the tap and I believe this resource should be made available to employees throughout their working day."
